My friend Trey DeArk and his business partner Terence Green through their start-up Phase 5 have just launched a Kickstarter project. Check it out:

I had fun hanging out with them, helping to shoot some of the video and learning about their project. Trey handles the technical side, the engineering, 3D models, etc., while Terence acts more as the creative director. Trey’s bachelor’s degree is in fine arts, so he’s very much in the creative side of it too, and Terence just plain has it going on and he’s developed a lot of their promotional materials. He also has a knack for pushing Trey to game out technical possibilities. That’s my impression anyway. I know they dropped a few thousand dollars making prototypes. This isn’t some weekend bender. They’ve been going round and round with this for months.

Now, the day when I shot some of their video was also the first day I met Terence, though he looked familiar–because he’d gigged with a brass band for house warming party on our block earlier that same morning. (He normally performs with MyNameIsJohnMichael.) How New Orleans, right?

Do you have an iPhone 4? Drop some money on these guys.
